Louise T. (Re) O’Donnell passed away peacefully at The Atrium Memory Care
facility on September 19th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved wife of over 56 years to Henry E. “Harry” O’Donnell and for over 13
years to her second great love Frank M. Bashore; devoted mother to Steve
O’Donnell and his husband, Steve Abany of Boston, Brian O’Donnell and his wife,
Sandra of Concord, Aileen O’Donnell of Methuen and Nancy O’Donnell of
Burlington; proud grandmother to Sean and Laura O’Donnell and Christopher and
Katelyn Ganshirt; great-grandmother to Sylvia O’Donnell; sister-in-law to John
(Jack) O’Brien of North Attleboro and Rose O’Donnell of Westford; as well as
many loved nieces and nephews. She was the sister to the late Mary (Re) Peretti,
Joseph Re and Phillip Re and sister-in-law to the late John “Bud” O’Donnell, Ann
O’Brien and William O’Donnell.
Louise was born in Quincy, to the late Angelo and Antonina (Padrevita) Re.
Raised and educated in Quincy, she graduated from Quincy High School in 1948 and
then attended the Fay School in Boston. After graduation, she joined the
Westinghouse Company, where she met and married Harry. She became a homemaker
and mother until her youngest child went to school, then rejoined the workplace
as a real estate broker. Louise later worked for Digital Equipment Corporation
for 12 years, her last role as a manager in their Management Education Group
before she retired.
After living and raising her family in Burlington, Massachusetts for 35 years,
she and her husband Harry moved to the Village at Stone Ridge in Westford in
2002. She was active doing work for the Village, writing and later editing their
newsletter. With husband Frank, she got to travel extensively in the US and
Europe, having many memorable trips. She enjoyed travel, socializing, reading,
puzzles, being with family and friends and taking care of the people around her.
Most of all, Louise was devoted to her family, children and grandchildren and
always expressed her love of all of those around her.
